RankMySong – Rules & Terms of Use

By using RankMySong, submitting a song, or voting, you agree to the terms below.
1. What RankMySong Is
RankMySong is a public music ranking platform where songs are ranked solely by the number of votes they receive during an active chart period.
There are:
- No judges
- No expert reviews
- No algorithms
- No genre separation
- No head-to-head comparisons
Rankings are based only on raw vote totals.
2. How Ranking Works
- Each valid vote counts as one (1) vote
- Songs are ranked from highest to lowest vote count
- Ties are permitted
- Songs with zero (0) votes remain visible
Vote totals are displayed publicly and are not adjusted, weighted, normalized, or altered.
3. Voting Rules
Voting on RankMySong is open to the public.
- No account is required to vote
- Each vote counts as one (1) vote
- There are no downvotes
- Voting is limited to the active chart period only
RankMySong may apply technical limits to voting, including but not limited to browser cookies, IP address checks, rate limits, or similar measures.
RankMySong does not guarantee that every vote is unique, human, or free from manipulation. The platform prioritizes openness and transparency over strict enforcement.
Artists, fans, and the general public may vote. RankMySong does not restrict self-voting.
Votes cast outside the active chart period do not count.
4. Chart Periods
- Votes only count during the active chart period
- When a chart ends:
- Rankings are finalized
- Vote counts reset for the next chart
- Once a chart period ends, vote counts and rankings are final and will not be changed.
- At the end of a chart period, song listings and results may be moved to an external archive site (including crowdchartmusic.com) for permanent public access, and RankMySong may not retain archives on this site.
- Songs with zero votes will still appear on the chart and may be included in the archived results.
5. Submission Fees & Payments
- Submission fees are charged for entry only
- Submission fees are non-refundable
- Payment does not guarantee:
- Votes
- Ranking position
- Exposure
- Promotion
- Placement on any external platform
All payments are processed through a third-party payment processor. RankMySong does not store credit card information.
6. No Guarantee of Fairness or Results
RankMySong makes no guarantees regarding:
- Fairness
- Equal exposure
- Voting behavior
- Chart outcomes
Artists may promote their songs independently. Differences in promotion, audience size, or activity will affect results.
RankMySong does not intervene to “correct” outcomes.
7. Anti-Abuse & Enforcement
RankMySong reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:
- Monitor voting activity
- Flag or limit suspicious behavior
- Remove votes, submissions, or entries that are clearly fraudulent, automated, or spam
- Remove content that violates these terms or applicable laws
Questions or complaints about rankings, vote counts, or enforcement decisions may be submitted via contact, but RankMySong has no obligation to adjust results based on disputes.
RankMySong is not required to provide explanations, evidence, or appeals regarding enforcement decisions.
No refunds will be issued for any reason, including dissatisfaction with results, enforcement actions, or chart outcomes.
8. Song Submissions & Rights
By submitting a song, you represent and warrant that:
- You own or have permission to share the submitted content
- The song link does not infringe on the rights of others
- You grant RankMySong permission to display the song title, artist name, and link on the site
RankMySong does not claim ownership of your music.
Promotional Use License
By submitting a song to RankMySong, you grant RankMySong a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, publicly perform, and distribute excerpts of the submitted song for promotional, marketing, and informational purposes.
This includes, but is not limited to, use on RankMySong websites, social media platforms (including TikTok), promotional videos, livestreams, and advertising content.
This license does not transfer ownership of the music and may be revoked only by discontinuing future submissions.
9. Limitation of Liability
RankMySong is provided “as is.”
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- RankMySong is not liable for lost revenue, missed opportunities, reputational impact, or dissatisfaction with results
- RankMySong is not responsible for third-party links, platforms, or services
Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to discontinue use of the site.
10. Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated at any time. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the current version.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which RankMySong operates.
